|Dear Diary: |
Overheard at the corner of 74th and Lexington while waiting for the light to change:
As a traffic enforcement agent started to write a parking ticket for a 2008 Cadillac Escalade at an expired meter, a bright-blue-clad Doe Fund employee was emptying the trash from a nearby can. (The Doe Fund helps homeless people find work and housing.)
He stopped what he was doing and looked up at her and said, "Could you please just give me a minute to move my car first?"
She hesitated for a split second before acknowledging his sense of humor with a big smile, and continued to write the ticket.
